Is it necessary to have my 2Mhz and 5Mhz radios to have the same SSID
Hello!
My router/gateway got reset to factory default for reasons unknown to me. I was setting up the SSIDs for the 2,5 and guest WiFi.
When giving the 5Mhz radio a different name than the 2Mhz radio the gateway complains when you go to save it. I had to turn off the 5Mhz radio since the WiFi smart bulbs would not pair with it on.
Please tell me what you think!
Regards,
Dave

Personal choice as to if you share the same SSIDs on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
The purpose of have a single SSID is to allow your AT&T provided Gateway to use Mesh Wi-Fi support. If you have issue with IoT devices I would just put them on the Guest network since it is already isolated from the other networks.
You can ignore the warning message about your SSIDs not matching if you want to run individual custom SSIDs and not take advantage of the Mesh network.

I didn't even think about throwing those on the guest network.
Must wait for the Mrs to pass out for the afternoon and then I'll mess with all the lights and plugs!
But thank you for that useful info!
