Internet Outage
Fiber internet and TV has been out for over 24 hours, if I call I get the same “our technicians are working on it” corporate nonsense (there are no AT&T people anywhere in the area), and the estimate on the app STILL says “should be fixed within 24 hours.” Do I need to just cancel and call a competitor? How does it take this long in 2022 to get internet fixed

Depends on what's causing the outage. Have you checked the outage report? The cause of a major outage can be many miles from you.

I have. “Fiber cable issue.” My frustration stems from “our technicians are in the area and are working on it.” No, they’re not. No-one is in the area encompassed on the outage report. It’s a relatively small area. I saw one AT&T guy asleep in his truck in a parking lot yesterday about an hour after it happened and that is the only “technician” I’ve seen. I can’t keep telling my employers “sorry my internet is out for multiple days.”

If the outage report shows no outages in your area it may be time to escalate to a customer care executive by filling out the form.

There is an outage. There is an outage report. The geographic area encompassed by the “outage area” is small. That is why the claims of technicians are in the area are bull because me and my neighbors can see no-one is here

If internet is essential for your work you should have a back up connection.

Well I guess if you can't physically see them then they don't exist.
There could be many reasons you "don't see them", waiting for parts for an equipment failure is one common one. So the claims maybe bull, but again they may not be. What's your zip code?
