IGMP Multicast and IP Passthrough on BGW700-210

hi everyone,

I've FINALLY figured out how to put my BGW into IP Passthrough so my UDM Pro is getting the WAN IP. The only trouble now are my set top boxes - they will lose signal after only a few minutes. All 3 boxes are hardwired with an unmanaged switch at each location. I've been doing some research and googling and ran across something called IGMP Multicast and that appears to be my problem?

My network topology is as follows - AT&T RG Port 1 to WAN port on UDMP. Lan port on UDMP to Port 1 on Netgear switch. The other 3 Ethernet runs that handle IPTV are plugged directly to the UDMP. Instead, can I plug the 3 Ethernet cables to the Netgear switch to restore the TV signal? or would I need a switch between the RG and UDMP?

Replace the unmanaged switches with managed switches where the TVs are. Connect then to the gateway. Wireless would work as long as they are wireless stb’s and the get a good signal. And it must connect to the gateway directly or with a managed switch.

Simplest solution is to connect the stb’s to the remaining 3 gateway ports. Or plug all 3 to a managed switch connected to the gateway if you need a gateway port open. Basically running two networks. One iptv, the other computer data.

My set up Is bgw210 in ip passthrough to an ASUS router. ASUS connected to a zxyel gs1900 switch. All 3 stb’s connected to the gateway. One day I may try to set up a vlan for the stb’s, turn on igmp snooping in the ASUS and bypass the gateway.

The 3 remaining Ethernet ports go back to 2 bedrooms and the living room. At each one of those ports I have an unmanaged switch with multiple other LAN devices connected which puts all my LAN devices and the STB's on the same network. Other than running a separate Ethernet run, any chance this can be fixed with the existing setup or maybe adding something like a managed switch?
