Have an old house with Coax cable. do I need to up date whole house with CAT 5 or whatever

Most of my U-verser receivers are connected by coax cable, and they just sent me the new gateway. It does not work unless you have ethernet capabilities. Which, of course, I do not. Any suggestions?

How many total receivers including DVR?

The Uverse product line will support up to 5 wireless receivers using either the 501 or 2500 WAP. The first two should be 1st gen 7005, additional units need to be 2nd gen 7105 or 2500. Each wireless receiver has a one time of $49 plus the monthly $10 per receiver charge. Additional the receivers need to be within range of the WAP. This may require a billable service call to move the WAP.

Or hire a low voltage company to rewire your residential area with cat5e or cat6 wiring which will cost some money.

Or cancel Uverse tv service moving to all streaming service such as DirecTv Stream.

Or downgrade the number of receivers to just one or two…

Or call and request a 5268 gateway, still has a coax connection, instead of the 210 be shipped to you for self installation.

You might also look into Ethernet to coax adaptors, don't know if they'd work or not. They basically give you an Ethernet connection over coax.
