Can I receive service at my new address without having to pay for the 'rental' on a new one?

I am looking to sign-up for Fiber Internet. I already have an ATT uVerse modem which I paid ATT ($150 approx.) for when I discontinued my service at my old address. This was because I was out of the country for a number of months early this year and no means of returning the unit at that time. Can I receive their service at my new address using this device, without having to pay for the 'rental' on a new one?

nope if you have service you pay the fee, no way around it, you didnt buy the modem you paid a fee/fine for non return but at&t still owns the modem  kinda like paying a parking ticket doesnt allow you to park without paying in the future. the terms of service when you signed up with at&t,
