bgw320-505 current firmware level
Running BGW320-505 - showing firmware version 2.10.6
Is this current? If not, do updates occur outside of customer control and when?

That is the most current and updates occur when you least expect it.....or when AT&T has broken something and wants all of us to have some fun. ;-)
You used to have more control, the updates were online if you knew where to look and you could grab the newest one and install it if it hadn't been pushed to your gateway or even revert to an earlier one (see above for why you'd want to do that). But AT&T finally put the kibosh on that and even if you do find an older version and revert, they will come along quickly and put you on the version they want you to be on.
So now they usually come in the middle of the night but on a rolling distribution schedule (so they don't break everyone all at once!).

Thanks! As my unit was recently installed, my 1st concern was that it was updated when first powered up.
Ongoing, is there any place I can browse to reference what is the most current level?
I suppose I'll need to be a frequent reader on this forum and infer current level from its latest entries.

Don't try to port forward with 2.10.6 because it doesn't work.

A great resource is the DSL Reports Uverse forum....
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/uverse
There's an ongoing thread about the 320 and lots of very helpful people with a ton of technical knowledge.

My BGW320-505 was remotely updated, early morning on 3/30/2021, to level 2.11.6 (previous lvl 2.10.6)

I think you mean 2.11.5 since that is what is currently being deployed.

Indeed, I stand corrected, it is 2.11.5 - thanks!

No problem I have troubles with numbers so I check them very carefully. And you have not noticed any improvement or loss of function other than an outage for the update?

Correct. I run IP Pasthrough, with Firewall & Packet Inspection disabled and Radios (both freqs) off.
No issues & no noticed improvement. Would be nice if AT&T provided a "change log" with each update ...
Another peeve, I have to monitor my down stream router to note the firmware upgrade. Would be nice if their device kept an internal wrap-around log for this.
