BGW320-500 as passthrough to eero Pro home wifi

We have an eero Pro wifi system at home and just upgraded to ATT fiber and have a BGW320-500.  Was wanting the eero sytem to handle all wifi.  I went into our ATT device settings and turned off/disabled wifi and Packet Filter Firewall.  What about IP Passthrough settings under the Firewall category?  Currently its set to Allocation Mode -- Off.  Should that be set to Passthrough?  And if so, what about the DHCPS settings?

Thanks for reaching back out to us, @franciscorat

We have more information here on IP Pass-through and how to set up manual mode.

  • Manual mode is like statically configuring your connected computer. With Manual mode, you configure the TCP/IP Properties of the LAN client computer you want to be the IP Passthrough client. You then manually enter the WAN IP address, gateway address, and so on that matches the WAN IP address information of your AT&T device. This mode works the same as the DHCP modes. Unsolicited WAN traffic will get passed to this client. The client is still able to access the AT&T BGW210 device and other LAN clients on the 192.168.1.x network.

There's also details at the bottom of that forums' page with more information regarding IP Passthrough mode.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi there, franciscorat. We understand that you have your own equipment that you would like to use as your WI-Fi/mesh system and pair that with the AT&T equipment.  We can look into that with you.

You have clear idea of what you want to do, so let's just give you the right information.

The 3rd party device looks like another router, so IP Passthrough passthrough will be the best option for you.

Please use the accepted solution provided by on our community ACE, @dave006 for the steps.

If IP Passthrough is not successful the first time, a reset of the AT&T equipment is in order. Then try IP Passthough again and disable the Wi-Fi.

The only thing to mention is that once IP passthrough is configured the AT&T router just maintains the connection to the Fiber service. So for any connection or service concerns, we can only troubleshoot up the AT&T router. Please remove the 3rd party device and factory reset the AT&T equipment again.

Please let us know if that works for you.

Thanks ATT Help and @dave006 for the accepted solution.  Did have some follow up questions, on the last step it stated.... "Manually configure your device to use the WAN IP address, default gateway, and Broadband Subnet mask from your gateway."  Could you expand on this some?  I am using eero Pro devices.
