BGW-320 No Port Forwarding
Hey all,
Port forwarding does not seem to work at all with my BGW-320. My current setup is the BGW-320 hooked up to my dekstop PC via an ethernet cable at the moment. There are no other devices connect to my 'network.'
Here are the steps I followed
- Factory reset and restart
- Navigated to Firewall > Nat/gaming > custom service > filled in port 25565, TCP
- Saved and started the service with my desktop as the "needed by" device
- restarted router
Using a port checker site, the port is not open. netstat also does not show the port being open.
I'm not sure what the problem is here.... Any advice?

First work on this problem (that you cannot connect locally). Are you using the local IP address (i.e. one that starts 192.168.1., not the public IP address that one would use externally)? Check your Windows Firewall's logs to see if it reports dropping traffic to your port. You can also try temporarily turning off Windows Firewall entirely to see if that fixes the problem: if it does, then you know it is the Windows Firewall causing the issue and you can focus more in on getting it properly configured to pass traffic through to the Minecraft server.

Hi @CEOKINGCOBRA, We're here to help with getting Port Forwarding set up.
If you haven't already, please refer to our Port Forwarding guide online to ensure that you followed each step correctly. You'll want to be sure to choose your gateway model from the drop-down menu for the correct steps.
Let us know how it goes!

Hey Ben, I could not find my modem model in the guide you sent me all the names in the drop down menu seem to be mixed up.
I have the BGW320-505, and I followed this guide linked here with no result.

Hello @CEOKINGCOBRA,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
We're more than happy to assist you with your port forwarding concern.
We understand that your gateway is BGW320, but there’s a difference between a gateway and a modem, so we recommend you to please visit our website which will guide you to get to know more about your modem. Post that, please choose your Gateway/Modem model from the drop-down menu for the correct steps to set up port forwarding.
Hope this helps!

Hello, the drop-down menu on the site you linked is still messed up but it seems like the arrnvg599 is the BGW320 gateway in that menu. I followed the instructions on the website and the ports are still not open.
The instructions were the same from the previous forum post I linked in my last response anyway.

By this do you mean that you've run a NETSTAT command in a CMD window and you do not see the the port listed?

Yea I've run netstat and I did not see the port I've also used one of those 'port checker's tools online as well.

Okay, then. If NETSTAT didn't show the port, then the online port checker isn't going to see it either; that's expected behavior. However, the conclusion you're reaching (that port forwarding is not working) is not a correct conclusion from this evidence.
NETSTAT shows you what ports are open on your computer. If NETSTAT isn't showing the port, then the software that is supposed to be hosting the service on that port doesn't have it open. Until that happens, port forwarding is useless; there's nowhere for the traffic to go once it's forwarded to your computer from the Gateway. The port checker won't get a response, so it will say the port is closed (not knowing that the software isn't holding the port open).
So... figure out how to get the software running so that NETSTAT shows the port open. Then, and only then, run the port checking tool. If it still shows it closed, then it could be a software firewall on your computer or a port forwarding problem.
