BGW210 to BGW320 UPGRADE?
I currently have an ATT Installed BGW210-700, and it has a problem. Finally talked with a Level 2 Tech (ATT), and they are sending a BGW320 to replace it. Was told it could be self installed, with
no problems, just changed the cables over to the same ports.
I am seeing all types of information about this online, and MOST of it conflicts with that.
What’s the TRUTH? I have about 10 devices on the network, Wired and Wireless, 2.5 & 5.0 (some capable of AX) IPhones, iPads, Macs, MacBooks,TV’s, Fridge, Hopper, and 2 PC’s.
Really don’t want this screwed up! Should I get ATT to send service Tech?

Glad to address your inquiry about your replacement gateway, Gmlink99!
Thanks for your assistance, JefferMC!
You don't have to have a technician come out to set up your new gateway, whether it's the BGW210 or BGW320. Just use our guide on how to Install your replacement Wi-Fi gateway, and you'll be good to go.
If you have any other questions about your equipment, let us know!

The truth is:
What exactly are the symptoms you're trying to fix?

Not really sure, lost capability to access devices. Tech tried to replace/upgrade software, then agreed to replace. Did verify sending the 320, but understand that they don't SHIP the equipment. Won't know until it comes today. Will update post then. Stay tuned.

Can you be more specific?
CSRs will promise anything to get you off the phone. Any customer satisfaction measurement will occur immediately following the call, well before you get whatever it is you get shipped.

So, let me get tbis straight. If I get a 210, rather than the 320, it's a straight swap out to one that may work better. If I actually get the 320, can it be installed on the ATT setup for the original 210? Or do I need a Tech to install?

As long as you have fiber, as Aminah said, either way it's an easy swap out, with the caveat that some devices may not work well connected to the BGW320 port 1. [If you had VDSL2/ADSL2+ copper service, then the BGW320 won't work for you at all.]

Two things, first, ATT did send a BGW320-505 to replace my original 210. Second, IF you talk to the right Level 2 Tech to do the swap, they do know what they're doing. Excellent experience, picked up both coverage and speed. Now using AX as well. Yes, it can be a PAIN to reach the right person. Maybe ATT Support should revamp their MENU? Thanks all for assistance. Could have been worse!

Going to an AT&T store will not get you a BGW320 or any other AT&T Gateway. No AT&T store stocks any Gateway.
The only way to get another Gateway is to contact AT&T and present a problem with your service that might be corrected with a replacement gateway. They can ship you a replacement Gateway (which may or may not be a BGW320), or they could send a tech (though having a tech sent just to replace a gateway is known as "dispatch on demand" and carries a fee of $100 or more).
Why is it that you feel you need a BGW320?
