U-verse Equipment Return Instructions
I recently moved and transferred my wi-fi internet to the new address. I left the little white box and took the modem (which were the instructions). I brought the modem to my new house for the tech to activate and he changed it out for an updated version. He took the modem from me. I got an email saying I needed to return the equipment but I don't have any equipment to return. Don't want to get charged. What do I do?

Moving this post to the Internet forum.
How long ago did your gateway get swapped out? I'd suggest calling the 800-288-2020 number. I'm not 100% confident they can fix this, or if they say they are fixing it, if it really will be fixed.

Usually, when a tech takes a Gateway it gets checked in properly. Sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah, the latter is what I worry about because many people only find out a year or more down the road when a collection agency appears (or they find a naughty mark on their credit report).

Obviously, it hasn't been checked in properly or I wouldn't be receiving the email. I've had one (Edited per community guidelines) of a time with them lately!!!

Not necessarily. Some e-mails are triggered automatically, whether they're appropriate to the situation or not. People who have quit AT&T Internet, but kept U-verse TV are asked in an e-mail to return their equipment (which they cannot, because they still need it). People who need to return their equipment get an e-mail to recycle it. etc.

When we moved service we got an email to return the gateway. Even though we moved the gateway to the new address.
