How does my tv use data when it's turned off?

I have a Vizio tv that shows that it's using data on a daily basis but I haven't turned it on hardly at all maybe once per week.

Do you unplug the TV or just push the remote control button to "turn it off?"

Did you ever think about how much the TV actually has to be on in order to process the signal from your remote control in order to "turn on?"  While your TV is off, it can still download firmware.  If you have apps loaded on it, they could be getting updates.  Those apps could also be downloading content.

It's possible that your Vizio TV is using data for background processes even when it's not in use. This could include software updates, app updates, and other system functions. One way to troubleshoot this issue is to disconnect the TV from the internet for a few days and see if the data usage decreases. Additionally, you may want to check the settings on your TV to see if there are any options to limit background data usage or turn off automatic updates.
