HBO Max
I am considering canceling my AT&T fiber internet but would like to keep my HBO Max account. What is the best way to do that? I assume I can cancel and then just get a new HBO Max subscription but I would like to keep the current account (with all of our settings already in place, etc.) if possible.
Thanks!

Write your settings down just in case. If you cancel AT&T and then subscribe to the standalone Max, I doubt if your settings, creds, etc will be transferred over because you will be considered a new customer independent of AT&T (different billing ,etc).

You have MAX account now based on your AT&T account e-mail and password. When you terminate your AT&T Internet service, as long as you pay off your bill and return your equipment, is supposed to still function as an e-mail account. The question is whether or not you will still be able to log into your MAX account with it. I expect if you can, then you will find your subscription has expired. Hopefully, you can just provide new payment information. You might want to see if you can change your log id to some other e-mail address as well.
If you cannot, then... well, set up a new one with new payment information.

Anyone have issues using att account to login into Max?
I was under the impression that our accounts would be grandfathered in.

They should be but being as Max just launched today there are bound to be issues. FWIW, we have the standalone HBO Max but the app hasn't switched over to Max yet. Logging in is fine.

Hello @Blackjohnnyquest, we will be glad to assist with logging into Max using your AT&T account.
If you are an existing HBO Max user, you have access to the Max app, and you should be able to use your existing credentials to login. Click here for additional help on Max login.
So we can look further into this, can you please let us know if you are getting any error messages when you attempt to log in to the Max app?
Looking forward to hearing back from you
