Chinese social media app video blocked by AT&T Fiber
I have been a Fiber customer ever since the pandemic began, but this problem started very recently. I haven't been able to access the Chinese social network (Weibo) normally for more than 2 weeks. Most of the time, if I try to open any video in the app (Weibo International), the video would not open. I know this is AT&T blocking it, because if I disable WiFi and use cellular data, the video loads right way.
I don't have a problem loading the text and image content on the app, only the video content.
Is this the same problem as the earlier Wechat blocking problem? Do any of you encounter the same problem? This has been very annoying and disruptive to my usage of internet .

AT&T doesn't usually block common websites. What's more likely (as you saw in the Wechat situation) is that the routing they use to get to weibo.com is messed up.
Have you tried to run a tracert to get a better, though not definitive, idea of what's going on? I just ran one to weibo.com and it went through without issue. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean much because the app might be going to a completely different server.

Thank you tonydi. I haven't got a chance to do the trace but the situation has magically fixed itself in the last couple of days. Yay! But still appreciate your insight!

Thankfully most of these routing issues are fairly short-lived and not like that Wechat situation. Glad it's cleared up for you and thanks for coming back to report it's fixed.
