Nokia cell booster (femetocell)

I just received a cell booster from ATT.  Model SS2FII femtocell multi-band soho.  The power LED blinks white and the internet LED blinks orange.  The Nokia manual says I need to open udp port 150, 4500, and 123 but I can’t open these ports without the IP address.  Does this unit have a default IP?  I can’t see it on my network yet my old 3g microcell works just fine using the same network cable.  I don’t know how to get this working and no one from ATT can help.

@joeez MMS/SMS works just fine for us over WiFi-C with our iPhones. And we can send/receive the same from Android users as well. WiFi-C has always been more stable and reliable than the femtocells, which I've been using since they were first introduced by AT&T. Once WiFi-C was available, we put the MicroCell on the shelf and have used WiFi-C exclusively. I have recently put the MicroCell back into use for testing purposes and will keep it online as long as the service lasts. We keep WiFi-C enabled as well but our phones always indicate the AT&T M-Cell alpha tag. Zero issues with MMS/SMS to non-iPhone users. Do you keep WiFi enabled (which is different than WiFi-C)?

Wifi on as well as wifi c.  I was told by ATT when I raised the issue that Android can receive MMS from iPhone but problems sending MMS. To be honest, everytime I speak to ATT I get a different answer.

@joeez That's not true. I have no issues, now, with sending/receiving MMS/SMS from my iPhone 12 to our Android friends. When we switched our plan from Rollover to Unlimited, the account configurations got corrupted. We couldn't send/receive SMS/MMS nor could we get 2FA codes. It took someone from the Office of the President to fix the corrupted settings on our account. Once that was done, all was well.

I have a feeling that the shutdown of the 3G network and moving servers,  the issues with the Cell Booster, and the issues with some fiber customers not being able to access WeChat (I think that's the service) have really thrown the IT/Network Engineers scratching their heads trying to figure out what's going on.

Hey all,

I got my new Nokia cell last night and set it up as directed (downloaded app, plugged in, waited, and waited, ....... and waited). After an hour I unplugged it, unplugged the router, an then plugged them both back in. About 2 hours later when I went to bed it wasn't working. This morning there was no change. What it does - The power light flashes for a long while then the Internet light and 4G LTE light join in and flash. After a while the Internet light and 4G LTE light give up and just the power light flashes. Then they feel bad they quit so after a white they join in the flash again. This morning I gave up with it and plugged the old unit back in. ATT - get your (Edited per community guidelines) to work BEFORE sending it to customers.

@OttoPylot here’s the latest…

AT&T Free Msg: We have closed your request from 01/24/2022. Microcells are no longer supported, we recommend wi-fi calling via your phones. Thank you.

@Bryanchiappelli That is funny if it wasn't so sad ☹️. I will tag your message to someone in AT&T that I've been working with. This is ridiculous. Take a deep breath and hang in there.

@Jason11   That is my fear...... I don't want to change anything until they get their support up to date.

@Bryanchiappelli   I have been told many times to use the WIFI calling, it does not work where I live, I always have it on and it never reconnects to other carriers.   It is pointless.

@L2harris WiFi-C really is the preferred method of connectivity for improving in-home coverage. Your phone should just connect to AT&T. Keep in mind that WiFi-C will connect to the closest WiFi signal, which is usually your home. It is not meant as a replacement for cellular if you're outside of your home WiFi. You can't drive around with WiFi-C enabled for example and expect it to connect to AT&T. You need to be connected to a WiFi network and if that service allows WiFi-C to AT&T on their network, it should work.
