New ATT MicroCell arrived today:( HELP

I have had the existing 3g MicroCell for years and it was great.  However, as soon as I plugged in the new grey ATT 4G device (Nokia) that arrived in the mail today, it will not connect!  I see some other posts with the same issue. ONLY A BLINKING WHITE POWER BUTTON and BLINKING ORANGE INTERNET BUTTON.  I have plugged the device into both the wifi and router, rebooted many times, nothing.

Arris Surfrider Modem, Google Mesh wifi (all worked before).

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. No cell service now.

ATT has to activate the cell booster after you register it with the app.  It took up to 45 minutes or more after connecting all cables. You don’t need the GPS antenna once the light goes solid white.

Have the SS2FII 5g booster and the stats light blinks orang.  I have done all of the above except the ports as I am not sure where to find them with a Centurylink modem/router.  Otherwise have done everything mentioned in this forum.

How do we get this to activate?

Hey there @macallini, we'd love to help you with activating your new AT&T Cell Booster device.

After completing all of the steps mentioned above, please let us know if you received a "Registration Successful" screen, then proceeded to press Next. Once the devices is registered, you'll be guided through the setup and installation steps/screens in the AT&T Cell Booster app. (The first screen to appear will be to find the best place for your Cell Booster. After the device is activated set it upright or mount it to a wall.)

Once finished, you'll need to proceed further with setup physically and in the Cell Booster app:

  1. Locate the yellow-colored Ethernet cable in the box. Once unwrapped, connect one end to the yellow colored Ethernet port. Next, connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your internet gateway/router. Push firmly on each end of the cable until it clicks; click Next
    • Heads Up: If you're unsure which port to use on your internet gateway/router, any open similar looking port should work and is usually labeled LAN.
  2. Attach the GPS antenna to the window if one is nearby. Make sure the window is clean so that the antenna adheres securely, once complete click Next.
  3. Plug the power cable into the Cell Booster and into a nearby outlet. This is the last step to install and once complete, click Finish to go to the Home Page which will display the Cell Booster under your account.

    • Note: You'll get a Registration Success email once the device registration has completed in the Network with a summary of your Cell Booster information entered via the mobile app or portal.
After registration and set-up is complete, AT&T Cell Booster will go through an activation sequence in the network. Device activation can take up to an hour to complete. You'll receive an email and SMS notification once the device has completed activation and is enabled for use. The device LED's will turn solid white in the following sequence as steps are completed: Power > Internet > GPS > LTE > Status.

Go ahead and try these steps and let us know how this works for you!

Thank you.

@Nrtcsp The Cell Booster must maintain GPS connection at all times. This is for periodic maintenance checks (unannounced) which include location verification, E911, and timing purposes to allow for the data packets to synchronize between the Cell Booster and the nearest tower for handing off calls. Depending on where the Cell Booster is located (second story, close to a window, etc) the external antenna may not be needed at all for GPS lock.

@macallini If you think you may need to do port forwarding you will have to discuss that with CenturyLink and/or the mfr, not AT&T. Support is not able to handle individual router configurations for customers who have equipment that is not AT&T-supplied, for obvious reasons.

alright everybody, i just received the the femtocell 4g and after hours of connection issues and phone calls i think i have the solution. download the cell booster app and register your device. after that i i got a hold of protech support so they could put a rush on registering it because they are in no hurry to do this. after they finally registered it i had a solid orange power light which they said would disappear within 111 minutes and my microcell would light up, bullcrap. after several phone calls to att, and they actually gave me one number to a vein restoration clinic lol, i was finally able to reach a number that helps you with the microcell. they were able to trouble shoot & activate my microcell. within one hour of talking to them it was completely up and running after 6 hours of dealing with all the wrong people. a complete waste of time. the number you NEED to call is 8777774183. trust me and your day wont be ruined lol

@Larry69 What you got was someone in Engineering who was gracious enough to help you. As soon as everyone starts calling that number the hold times will be just like Support. AT&T is still working on the activation/connection issues and until it all gets straightened out, they may end up doing it on an individual basis, if they have the knowledgeable staff, time, and motivation. There are also issues connecting the various service areas with the servers. Support is pretty much useless as they are just reading from modified scripts that were used for the MicroCell.

I should have my updated Technical Guide (link is in my sig line) uploaded and available in a couple of weeks, once it has been reviewed. Glad all is well, so far, for you.

Hi I too have the same issue -flashing power and orange internet lights-how do we get help for this?  I have Spectrum internet and it is not connecting to the internet.  I’ve gone back to my trusty At&T first gen microcell which still works.
