New 4G microcell - add users?
I don't see a way to add/manage users like you could on the previous 3G version. Is this not a feature or required? Does anyone on AT&T within range get access to my microcell bandwidth? Does it use their own data plan but funnel it through my microcell? Also, just finished setting it up and occasionally the 4G light flashes quickly; is that due to weak internet connection? Is the GPS strictly so you can get a reverse 911 call?
Thanks!

It is not required because it will let any AT&T phone connect

Ok, sounds good, and on my iphone 7 it also doesn't say 'micocell' in the corner when on microcell, just shows ATT full bars, does that sound right too?

@dmskyline My Tech Guide for the Cell Booster should be available thru my sig line by tomorrow. It will be very similar to what my MicroCell Tech Guide was.
There is no alpha tag anymore. So the only way you can tell if you are connected to the Cell Booster is to disable WiFi, and where the WiFi signal bars are usually located, you should see LTE. The WiFi signal bars can "cover up" the cellular alpha tag. However, I would leave WiFi enabled at all times so that data goes over WiFi and only calls go over cellular. My wife's iPhone 7 works just fine with the Cell Booster. That being said, WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) is still the preferred method for poor in-home coverage, unless you have other users who don't have that capability. Her iPhone 7 works equally well with the Cell Booster and WiFi-C.

@OttoPylot Interesting, my wifi-c has never been very reliable. So far so good with the new booster though. Your new guide is live and very helpful. Thank you!

@dmskyline WiFi-C is dependent on how robust your WiFi connection is, available bandwidth, and your phone.

Hey there, @dmskyline! Let us help you with your question about if it's possible to restrict access to your Cell Booster.
We want to advise that @formerlyknownas is correct. Customers cannot restrict access to their AT&T Cell Booster device. However, only AT&T mobile phones can connect to the Cell Booster. Customers will need to use an AT&T 4G, LTE, 5G Sub-6GHz, or 5G+ (mmWave) device.
Also, as @OttoPylot shared, to tell that your device is connected to the Cell Booster you will see an LTE icon in the top right corner of your phone. Make sure to disable Wi-Fi to connect to the Cell Booster.
Whenever you can, use Wi-Fi for streaming video, downloading files, or surfing the web. It’s the best option for mobile data use. Plus, using Wi-Fi doesn't count against your monthly wireless data allowance. Standard data rates apply when you use 4G LTE data services through your AT&T Cell Booster instead of Wi-Fi.
What's more, for more information about dropped calls or poor voice quality we invite you to check out Find and fix AT&T Cell Booster issues. First, make sure your handset is activated on the Cell Booster Network and not on the AT&T network.
Then, if your Cell Booster is located:

We hope this info helps. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
