4G LTE light not on

Hi there - for two days now my cell booster’s 4G light has not worked. My internet provider was out a couple of night ago for a few hours - afterwards I reset everything and checked my settings and everything seems to be fine. I’ve disconnected/uninstalled and reinstalled. Still nothing. Any advice would be very welcome!!

We recommend that you try some troubleshooting steps:

  1. Please try removing the Booster from the account after the internet ports are fixed, re-add it, and then you will get a text that it is ready to use.

Perhaps you didn’t read my post, but I did uninstall and remove it, and then reinstalled. I’d appreciate any suggestions other than what I’ve already tried 🙂 also the link doesn’t work, but I’ve been on the help page and even spoke to AT&T support. Looking for new ideas.

@watsonsarae  Have you Reset the Cell Booster following the instructions in my Cell Booster Technical Guide (the link is the first one in my sig line)?

If you removed (deactivated) your Cell Boost and added it back to your account, did you get the text message that your Cell Booster was registered, activated, and ready for use? What does the rest of the light pattern look like?

Any chance that the LTE light just burnt out and your phone still connects? You phone should display the AT&T Wi-Fi alpha tag.

Hi and thank you for sending the link to the guide. I have indeed gone through the steps you outline. And last night, randomly, I finally

got a text from AT&T that the cell booster was activated and ready to use (I hadn’t done a reboot since yesterday morning) and lo! All five lights were on and it was working. This morning the only two lights on are power and GPS, and again no functionality. It’s really frustrating.

Hey again @watsonsarae,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are glad to help you out.

Please try troubleshooting your AT&T Cell Booster using the steps below:

  • Check the status of your device in the mobile app or on the web in Device details.
  • Connect the GPS antenna to your Cell Booster and stick the GPS antenna on a window.
  • Power cycle your Cell Booster and make sure the device lights are solid white.
  • Disconnect your Cell Booster through the app or web and try online registration again.
  • Ensure that you are on the AT&T Cell Booster network, and not the Macro Network (which may have poor coverage).
  • Reset your device by unplugging the power cord from the device, then wait 10 seconds and plug the power cord back in.

Let us know how it goes. We're just a DM away.

@watsonsarae  If you can, I'd take your Cell Booster to a friend's house and see if you can set it up. All you need to do is change the location of the Cell Booster and then set it up like you did in your own home. They are designed to be moved to another location as long as you follow the installation and router requirements. If that still doesn't work, then it's possible that the power outage damaged the boards in the Cell Booster or,  the ISP has made some routing changes due to their power outage resulting in the Cell Booster being unable to establish and maintain a 24x7 connection. If it is determined that the Cell Booster has or is failing, they can't be repaired.

Have you checked the ac adapter with a voltmeter? If should read around 18VDC without any load. If it reads 12VDC or lower, then it is failing and is not delivering enough consistent power to the boards and/or antennas.

Who is your ISP and what kind of service do you have?
