3G Microcell issues started on 5/1/2014
has anyone else starting having issues with the 3G Microcell on 5/1/2014? I received a text that my address on the microcell didn't match its GPS location. It is in the same location that it has been for 3 years. Since then it will not stay connected to the satelite. I have contacted Custmer support on many occasions with no resolution.

Send a pm to CustomerCare (link in my sig) and detail your issue, what you have done to correct the problem, the problem ticket number you were issued, your account information, the best way for them to contact you and most importantly, your location.
There have been some ongoing issues with the GPS coordinates received by AT&T and then a failed match to the locational database (physical address). This seems to be only in certain regions and in different MicroCell Service Areas within those regions.
AT&T performs maintenance/updates (if any) late at night when the MicroCell is least likely to be used. Part of the process is to check the address on file for the MicroCell against the GPS coordinates or the closest tower. If they don't match connection to the server is lost. Or, if they are correct, but the locational database is having issues, server connection is lost as well.
FWIW, I woke up about 3:30 am this morning because there was a racoon in the backyard making noise trying to get into the koi pond. I walked by the computer room and noticed that my 3G light was blinking green (probably during maintenance). When I left for work this morning around 7am, the 3G light was solid green.
The fact that you can't get GPS lock is a different problem though. If you haven't moved the position of the MicroCell and still have an unobstructed view of the sky, that may indicate that the unit is failing.

In fact, move the Mcell temporarily outside (not raining, of course) with a clear view of the entire sky for a quick test. If it doesn't get a GPS lock out there, then there is something wrong with the Mcell.
@ Otto - You think you have racoon problems? I get 5 or 6 at a time....all the time. They dig up my yard looking for worms and climb my small trees and shrubs, breaking off branches. If I had a silencer for my 9 MM.....

@Avedis- good suggestion on testing the MicroCell for GPS lock.
We've had to result to putting a bird net over the pond to stop the racoons from getting the fish. It has worked surprisingly well. The netting is black so it doesn't distract much from the pond.
As far as digging up the yard, get something like GrubEx or what ever is allowed up in your neck of the woods. Put it down about this time of year and it will kill the grub larvae leaving nothing for the racoons to root for. We had that problem as well and once we started using the GrubEx, they never dug up the lawns again. We're not allowed to trap them down here because they are urban racoons and can't be released in the wild because they may introduce disease to the wild population. Same thing for shooting them, unless they get in the house or are a danger. Unfortunately, the only natural predator the urban racoons have down here are automobiles

I use carbaryl (Sevin) instead of halofenozide (Grubex) to treat for European crane fly grubs that seem to like our lawn so I don't have much in the way of grubs. I do have a healthy population of earthworms though (I irrigate during the summer), and raccoons love worms!
We aren't suppose to shoot them and they can only be trapped with a permit here....but nothing's illegal if you don't get caught....I'm thinking a pellet rifle and a laser sight.....very quiet. I don't consider them cute, just varmints that carry rabies.

Yeah, my wife says the only good racoon is a flat racoon. And yes, racoons are the single largest cause of rabies in the U.S. Not too mention that their dried poop carries disease producing parasites.

My 3G Microcell issues started on May 22nd, and have yet to be resovled by AT&T. As an aside, the Microcell is in the window, and hasn't moved in months. They were very responsive on the the 23rd, where the routine reboots and reactivations were performed. But those actions did not resolve the issue.
Since the evening of the 23rd, there has been radio silence from AT&T except for a blanket statement that the case is being investigated, and they are "reviewing options."
I hope that your issue was resolved. I hope that mine is resolved in the near future.

See Message #2 above about contacting CustomerCare. AT&T is making changes to their system which has been having a negative impact on some MicroCell Service Areas is various regions.
