Why can't I send a picture to android users

Hi, I can't send pictures or emojis to any android users. I see a green line that keeps increasing and then receive a notification that delivery failed. I've tried everything to fix it but nothing has worked. Is there something on the wireless side on AT&T's network that would prevent me from doing this?

It may be a setting on your account that is buggered up. We can send/receive anything to our Android friends from our iPhones (7 and 12).  Do you have any issues with 2FA texts? The green line just means you are not sending an iMessage thru Apple's servers but are using the regular SMS/MMS servers.

Hello, creasman22, we're here to help you with sending pictures and emojis to Android devices.

Just a few quick questions, so that we may better address your tech issue:

-What is the make/model of your device?

-Have you downloading any recent software updates to your device?

-When did you first encounter this issue?

We're asking because we want to provide you with precise solutions for your specific device.

In the meantime, our first recommendation would be to use our device support module to reset your device.

First, you want to click your current on your current device and click the blue Confirm Selection box. Next you'll scroll down to Troubleshooting, then click Reset Device.

Follow the instructions, turn off your device for several seconds, then turn the device back on.

Our second recommendation would be to reset your network settings. If you are having connectivity issues, you can try resetting your network settings. This will delete all network settings, returning them to factory defaults. From the home screen, select the Settings app > General > scroll to and select Transfer or Reset iPhone > select Reset Reset Network Settings > select Reset Network Settings again to confirm.

We also suggest performing a factory reset if the issue persists. Doing so will revert the device back to its original factory settings.

Our third recommendation would be to check if your have Advanced Messaging set up on your device.

  1. The feature is ON by default.
  2. Open the default messaging app on your eligible AT&T smartphone and tap Menu, then Settings.
  3. Choose Advanced Messaging and tap On or Off. If you’re using the Messages by Google app, you can enable or disable chat features.
    • Tap On to send read receipts.
    • Tap Off if you don’t want to send read receipts.
  4. Start sending and receiving messages and files.

Our fourth recommendation would be to view this forums thread on not sending or receiving messages.

Please let us know if this helps. If not, we can continue offering you further assistance. Thanks so much for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!
