Unlocking iPhone
For the first time, I applied for unlocking the phone at the official website, but the reply to me is: You tried to unlock this device multiple times. Wait 30 days and submit a new request.
I do not know where the problem is, can you tell me? Thank you

No one here can tell you why the website is giving that response. Are you an AT&T customer and had the phone on your account?
Is the phone new to you? If so, it’s possible that whoever had it before you tried to unlock it (and likely failed) before selling it to you.
Are you trying to access the unlocking portal from outside of the US? If so, the portal sometimes gives weird responses.
Or it may just be a glitch. You’ll have to call AT&T and hope you can speak to an actual human who will actually help.

I got this phone from a friend which is completely paid off & no longer active on any at&t account. I called at&t multiple times but it kept directing me to the website and hung up on me.

Have your friend unlock it. If he had the AT&T account and was the one who paid it off, he’s the best one to fight with AT&T. If you got the phone second hand, and don’t have an AT&T account, AT&T usually isn’t very inclined to help you. You can try filing a FCC or BBB complaint.

Hello, @Iamatb23! We're glad that you were able to find help here on our Community & Forums.
While you're at it, we invite you to take a look at: Get info about device unlock eligibility.
As the ACE mentioned, "Have your friend unlock it. If he had the AT&T account and was the one who paid it off".
Do try these steps:
Submit a request to unlock a device:
Not with AT&T? We can still help you unlock your device. If the device works on our network, you’re covered.
Check your request status
Good to know:
Unlocking your device
Once your request is approved, check your text messages or email for instructions and an unlock code (if required). iPhones don't have unlock codes.
Lose your unlock code? Resubmit the request and we'll resend it to you.
We hope this info helps and that you enjoy the rest of your day!
We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Hi MatG, I tried calling the number you provided but it kept sending me to the website. This is getting a bit frustrating.
Should I follow dwill05’s advice and file a complain to FCC or BBB?

Hello @Iamatb23, we're glad that you were able to find help here on our Community & Forums.
We can definitely provide you with some more information about the unlock process. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done, as there were too many unlock requests submitted for your wireless device. Please wait 30 days, then review our Unlock eligibility requirements before you Submit a new request.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
