Unlock eSIM on iPad
Hello, I wanted to have my eSIM unlocked on a ATT iPad. I purchased this M1 iPad Pro on eBay and would like the eSIM unlocked for any carrier. I’ve seen this posted a few times so decided to do the same. I basically copied and pasted this thread with my info.
https://forums.att.com/conversations/apple/need-ipad-esim-unlock/627b17849f0cdf2ea6c499e6
- I’d like to submit a request for carrier visibility so I can view and select another cellular providers on my iPad Pro (6th Gen) 12.9”. Right now the only option available is AT&T.
- This is not the same as device unlocking. The iPad is already SIM unlocked, it is the eSIM that is showing AT&T as the only option.
- I do not have an account with AT&T and was told this was not required.
- On 7/27/19 user Sdunk1 inquired about the same question and ultimately had his issue resolved and you can see the thread here: https://forums.att.com/conversations/apple/request-for-carrier-visibility-carrier-reveal-on-ipad/5df02ba6bad5f2f606e9ddb2
I can and will provide my device serial/IMEI to get this process completed, and I thank you in advance!

You might try calling AT&T and asking for advanced tech support. Since this is the second hand purchase, you are counting on hopefully the person that originally owned the iPad paid it off and left their account in good standing. If it's not you are stuck with the physical sim

Hi @atflagger7, we're here to help you.
We understand your situation. We recommend yo to contact the original seller (eBay) to explore your unlock options.
Thank you,

@ATTHelp I've already tried contacting them but they said they got the device from someone else so they can’t do anything about it.

Hi @atflagger7, as informed earlier we wouldn't be able to provide much information, and you will have to contact the original owner of the device (eBay)
Thank you,
