stolen iPhone 14 under warranty

I bought an iPhone 14 less than a month ago and that phone was stolen from me. I'm trying to get a replacement device and its still wanting me to file a claim and pay 200 dollars for a replacement. If my phone is still under warranty do I still have to pay money to be sent a new one?

Yes. Warranty does not cover lost or stolen. You are getting an insurance replacement, not a warranty replacement and insurance has a deductible.

I believe that AppleCare+ covers lost or stolen phones, if you purchased AppleCare + from Apple. Sounds like you purchased the insurance plan from Asurion, which was unfortunate.

You needed to purchase Applecare + with Theft and Loss, which is a tier above normal Applecare +.

Warranty is directly through the manufacturer and covers defects in the original workmanship by Apple and there is no charge. When your phone is lost or stolen that is not a warranty issue that is covered only by insurance. And insurance always has a deductible of up to $300.
