Rejecting Calls Without Going to Voicemail

Is there a way to reject an incoming call and have the call dropped rather than having it go to voicemail.  Obviously, some calls are spam and I don't want them to hear a voicemail greeting.  Just hang up on them!

Hello @gg66012 we're happy to help with rejecting unwanted calls.

We recommended blocking unwanted calls to prevent spam from reaching your voicemail. Open your phone app and go to your recent calls. Tap the info icon next to the number or contact you want to block. Then, select Block this caller.

In addition, we offer the AT&T ActiveArmor to protect your device by providing the following features:

  • Auto Fraud Call Blocking: Detects and blocks calls from likely fraudsters before they reach you.
  • Nuisance Call Alerts: Labels potential nuisance calls from telemarketers, surveys, and more.
  • Nuisance Call Controls: Choose call categories to accept, block, or send to voicemail.
  • Unknown Calls to Voicemail: Automatically sends callers to voicemail if they are not in your address book and blocks other numbers in your personal block list.
  • Personal Block List: Add individual unwanted callers to your own block list.
  • Device Security: Helps protect your data from mobile threats.
    • iOS: Passcode Check and System Updates

You can also add your number to the Do Not Call Registry or report unwanted calls and texts by filling out the form or Forward suspicious messages to 7726 (SPAM). We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Communtiy Forums.
