No texts from Verizon androids

I have been in ATT for years, have had my iPhone for years and about 10 days ago soon after an update stopped getting texts from Verizon Android users. I already went through all the options like resetting wireless connection, network connections, having support reactivate my phone. This is getting ridiculous that it can’t be fixed. Can anyone help with this?

Hello there, @Vasf! We will be happy to help you receive text messages from your contacts using Android devices. We understand how important it is to be able to communicate.

In order to provide adequate support, we just need a little more information about your experience.

  • Are your contacts receiving an error message or alert as a result? A message like "not delivered" means that the recipient (your device) somehow opted out of messages including having blocked their phone numbers.
    • Use our Device Support tool to learn how to check if numbers or messages are blocked on your phone. After selecting your device's make and model, choose Email and messaging followed by Block or Unblock Messages. If there are contacts in your phone that are blocked from receiving messages then you will want to unblock those contacts.
    • Additionally, it can help to check for an updated version of your Message app.
      1. From the the home screen, select the App Store app then select the User account icon.
      2. App updates will be listed under AVAILABLE UPDATES or UPCOMING AUTOMATIC UPDATES. Select UPDATE next to the desired app to update an individual app. Select Update All to update all apps with an available update.
        • Note: Automatic app updates is on by default. To save battery life, turn off auto updates. From the home screen, select the Settings app > App Store > App Updates switch.

Also, a faulty Message app setting can be the reason for iPhone not receiving texts from Android. Make sure that the SMS/MMS settings of your Messages app hasn't changed.

  • To check Messages app settings, go to Settings > Messages > and then make sure that SMS, MMS, iMessage, and Group messaging are turned on.

Have you attempted resetting your network settings? If not, go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings. Restart your device and see if the concern persists.

Are you able to make calls to and receive calls from Verizon customers? this will help us narrow down what can be causing this.

You can also try using our troubleshooting and diagnostic tool. Simply click 'Fix My Wireless' and log into your account to get started.

Try this and let us know how it goes. We want to make sure that you're able to receive messages from your contacts with Android devices.

Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community.

I have tried all these. I just tried Fix My Wireless and it returned no issues. I can make calls to and receive calls from Verizon Androids. I can also send them texts and they receive them. When they send me texts, they do not reach me but they get no notification of a failed text so they have no way of knowing that their text didn’t get through.

It’s been a month and no resolution. Haven’t heard from anyone in a couple weeks. Thinking I may need to switch to a different carrier.

It’s been a month with no resolution. Thinking I may need to switch to another service. Can’t have texts to me go missing like this.

It's possibly related to your account. I'd file a BBB complaint. BBB won't do anything with the complaint but they will forward it to AT&T Corporate. It will be handed over to a Senior Manager in the Office of the President and he/she will contact you.

If you've done everything thing that AT&T's script suggests you do then you need to get Corporate involved. They have the resources to look into your account to make sure there isn't a corrupted or mis-configured file on the backend. I had the same issue over a year ago when I purchase a new iPhone 12 and it took the Office of the President two days to figure it out and fix it. Haven't had an issue since with our Android friends.

Thanks. It’s unbelievable to me that this is the situation. Trying the bbb route as my last resort before switching carriers.
