iphone and andriod on same plan cost more money?

both of my parents have andriods (samsung s22) and I do too but I'm looking into buying an iPhone (iPhone 12 pro max) and my dad wants to know if having and andriod and an apple phone on the same at&t plan will cost more coming from apples side. (is there a bill with adding a iPhone to before andriod only plan?)

We'd be more than happy to elaborate if having an S22 and iPhone 12 on the same plan would be cheaper, br4d01v.

If you have a plan with multiple lines, it's always going to be cheaper going that route, versus having one line. It also varies depending on the type of wireless plan that you have.

- Can you please share which wireless plan that your father currently has?

- Are the Samsung devices paid off completely?

We're asking because we want to provide precise pricing for those specific phones.

In the meantime, our first recommendation would be to view this page on the S22 device. The Samsung S22 would be $29.62 a month with installment and Next Up, or it could be free with a qualifying trade in.

Our second recommendation would be to view our page on the iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 would be $17 a month with an installment and Next Up.

The plans won't cost more just because you have a Samsung and Apple device on the same plan.

Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks again for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

There is no such thing as an 'Android plan' and an 'apple plan' . The cost of service is the same no matter what type of phone, including basic flip phones.

The answer is no, the service cost for Android and the service cost for iPhone are no different.

The cost of phone says nothing to do with AT&T's cost of service. Phones are priced separately.

If you are adding yourself as a third line on your parents account the average cost per line will be less than the average cost for two lines.

You did not say what plan your parents are using, whether they are on an outdated metered plan? or on a more current unlimited plan?

Old metered plans are priced a la carte with a bucket of data separate from line access. Unlimited plans are simple pricing. If you go to att.com you can see the current unlimited plans pricing. You can also price the cost of phones which will be about the same as what apple is charging. If you purchase outright through Apple, or with Apple financing, then you only pay AT&T for service.
