iPhone 4S data not working on AT&T

I have a iPhone 4S that I cannot send picture messages or data on. It's extremely complex, and I can't figure it out. The sim card is a family mobile/t-mobile sim card on AT&T. It says I have 4G, but  I get a PDP authentication error every time I use any app that requires data.

Cellular Networks enabled [✓]

4G Enabled [✓]

Network: AT&T

Carrier: T-Mobile 24.1

ios: 9.3.5

The only thing preset in my APN settings is under internet, it says: "APN: Alpha"

What plan do you have?

Carrier settings needs updated. If this is an MVNO carrier then it does not use the AT&T APN settings.

@lizdance40I have no idea. My grandma pays for it on her plan too. I'll hopefully get the answer to you tomorrow.

@David606: When I went to Settings > General > About, there was no carrier update. And I've tried almost every possible APN I've seen online. Hopefully when we figure out the plan and everything, we figure out what to do next.

Thank you both for your replies, I appreciate it very much.

ATT network, but T mobile SIM card.  It wouldn't work.  Needs an ATT sim and plan for ATT, or the same for T-mobile.

@lizdance40 The sim card is from Wal-mart's Family Mobile, which is powered by T-mobile, bring your own phone sim kit. It's the AT&T sim card from it, and the service is on AT&T. I get data on my Galaxy S5 just fine, but I am wanting to sell that phone and use the iPhone 4S I have.

The 5s is an LTE device.  The 4 S is a 3G device.  To swap your service from the Samsung to the iPhone, you need a new SIM card from ATT for a 3G device.  An LTE sim won't work in a 3G phone,,and visa versa.

The T-mobile card from Walmart is of no use on AT&T, I don't even know why we are talking about it.

If the 4S is locked to another network, it won't work on AT&T.

With the same sim card, I used to get data at my old home. It was 4G as well. I just don't get data on it where I live now.
