International Charges
Why didn't my iPad get charged the same as my iPhone for the international $10/day?

@Shar H
Even if tablets are covered, the information specifically says it must be added to each line.
https://www.att.com/international/day-pass/
"1. Add International Day Pass
Add it to each line on your Unlimited or Mobile Share® plan before you leave for your trip."
If you didn't, or couldn't add it to the tablet line, it was not covered.

I’m fairly sure the international day pass is for phones only. What made you believe it would cover your iPad? Did you specifically add the day pass to the iPad line?

No, but I would have if known.

My point is had you tried to add it the iPad line, you wouldn’t have been able to. The day pass definitely does not cover lines it hasn’t been added to, not sure why you think it would.

Thank you for reaching out @Shar H.
As the previous responses have stated, International Day Pass only applies to phone lines and, even within those parameters, has to be individually added to each line on an account.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. If so, we'll be happy to assist.

Thanks for the info update.
How do I turn off the area of use that acquires these charges as I travel internationally?

Thanks for responding @Shar H.
Just make sure that your iPad is in Airplane Mode and that you're using Wi-Fi and you should be good to go.

What if I am traveling (in Italy, to be exact), and previously set up my iPhone with the International Day Pass, and then: while traveling set it up as a hot spot, and connect to my iPhone as a hotspot from my iPad, to either make a voicecall or make a FaceTime call back home? Will the data usage be covered under my iPhone's international day pass?
