IMEI and phone number mismatch

Our family has shuffled phones around as families do, and now the IMEIs and the phone numbers don’t match. How do I correct this?

Hello @Katestickel, it sounds like you would need to swap the SIM cards on your phone.

We'd like to provide information on your SIM swap concerns.

As long as your devices are compatible with the same SIM card you are able to swab between devices.

You will need to update your IMEI every time you swap the SIM in each device. You can do this yourself on your AT&T account or by visiting your nearest AT&T retail store.

Furthermore, you may run into software concerns doing this procedure multiple times such as using apps.

If you ever have any other questions or concerns in the future, feel free to reach back out as we are always here to help!

Can you please explain that? What do you mean when you say the IMEI's and phone numbers don't match?

If you were referring to the IMEI's listed in your online billing information, they aren't going to match if you have switched phones. The IMEIs connected with a phone installment which is tied to a particular line for the duration. You can switch that phone to a different phone line, but the installment is going to stay right where it is.
