Calls going straight to Voicemail - ATT and iPhone

Often, but not always, we are told calls are going straight to voicemails by friends and family that call us.   It appears to happen when we are at home.

More info:
1. My wife and I both have older iPhones.  7 and 8, but they work fine elsewhere and do what we need.
2. We live in a weak ATT location (single bar) and have a Fermtocell ATT booster connected to our router.
3. If we turn our phones off and on, that seems to solve the problem.  Yes, that is a temp solution, but the problem will return within hours or overnight.

Any advice is appreciated.

Not a home phone issue, moved to wireless forum. I wouldn’t bother with ATTHelp’s suggestion. Calls going directly to voicemail either means the phone is not registered on the mobile network or the phone is rejecting the call. Since you say this only happens at home on your booster, it’s probably the former. You obviously have internet service since the femtocell requires it, try activating WiFi calling and use that instead of the femtocell. By the way, you don’t need to power the phones off and on to refresh your cellular connection. You can do that by putting the phone in airplane mode for about 10 seconds, then turn airplane mode off. That will cause the phone to re-register to the network.
