Broken phone, unable to finance new one through AT&T

My phone screen will not work. I have been trying to preorder the new iPhone and when AT&T asks for my Phone number to send a confirmation text, I can’t see what it is because I can’t open the text. It also is the only text that won’t also appear on my MacBook. Is there any way around this I am having a hard time getting anyone on the phone and desperately need to get a new phone!
