ATT Next Upgrade at Apple HELP
Hello. I did an upgrade using Next at Apple. I pick up the new phone at the Apple Store tomorrow. My question is, who do I turn in the old phone to? Do I give it to Apple or do I go to an ATT Corporate store or mail it back to ATT? Thanks!

Hello @ZombiiBass, thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums. We're here to address your concern. We know that this is something important to you.
Thank you for the response @dwill05. As ACE mentioned, once the upgraded device is picked up from the Apple Store or delivered to you. You can go ahead and visit the nearest AT&T store to return your Next up device.
Please check your email, once you have upgraded the device via "NEXT UP", you must have received the return label to your email or registered address to return the Next up device.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Thank you,
Mike, AT&T Community Specialist

I’d love to know too because AT&T won’t help me and are useless. I can’t return this phone so I guess I’m just going to hold onto it? Such a joke.

I did. Upgrade at the Apple Store on launch day and last year I was able to call in to ATT to ger a shipping label. This year no one has been able to help, not these forums, not the ATT customer service number and certainly not the corporate stores. Apple has no return label to give me. So I’m going to get charged for the remainder of my iPhone 14 pro that I can’t return because I can’t get a simple shipping label. Honestly I’ll probably leave Att next year and do Apples own upgrade program, because this shouldn’t be this hard in 2023.

Jeez. So Apple doesn’t take the phone then? It’s supposed to go back to att?
I’ll post here my experience tomorrow.

Your Next Up deal is with AT&T, not Apple. Apple doesn’t collect phones for AT&T. You’ll have to contact AT&T to return your phone to them.

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Please do not use the "trade-in kit" for a Next Up early upgrade!
The trade-in kit goes to a completely third party business. Your early upgrade is supposed to go back to AT&T.
Please call AT&T and use the keyword cancel once you get the automated phone tree. This will transfer you to the loyalty department and they can help you with a return label for your early upgrade. Please make sure you use the proper terminology:
Next up early upgrade
