AT&T Fraud Department Cancels Order - THREE TIMES!

Do Not Order Products Online from AT&T - Save yourself some valuable time!

I spent over six hours online trying to order one new iPad! The first Chat Tech gathered my info (product, account pass code, billing information, credit card information, ID verification, shipping information) and confirmed my order was sucessfully completed. I was instructed to check my email for updates and shipping times. Cool! But I check my email and find that my order is canceled "for my protection" because they can't prove I'm me!?! What?! Back to the online chat, I try again. Same long process except second Chat Tech tells me his manager is going to call my cell to verify my identity. Manager never calls but second Chat Tech tells me "not to worry" the order is successfully completed. Cool! Then comes the second email stating my order has been canceled! What?! I'm frustrated beyond words but go ahead and try a third time (my bad), making sure the third Chat Tech knows that I've had two previous orders canceled and I have now spent four hours trying to place an order for Ipad. Third Chat Tech tells me "not to worry" I'm a "valued customer," she "appreciates my patience" blah, blah, blah. So, I spend another l-o-n-g period of time placing the order. Third order is placed, third order is canceled!! What the heck!!  Oh, and AT&T had no problem charging my credit card for two IPads (I disputed these charges and they've been removed).

Seriously, I don't know how AT&T does business selling products online!! The ordering process is not only slow, the order ends up getting canceled by the so called "Fraud Department." And it's not like you can talk to Fraud Department to prove who you are! By the way, AT&T has an online upload your ID system, but it clearly doesn't work!

But, ok, if you don't want my money... FINE! 

People - DO NOT order products from AT&T online! Go straight to the Apple Store (or Target or Best Buy) if you want an iPhone or iPad or iWatch! You will be spinning your wheels trying to order online through AT&T. You can, of course, go to an AT&T Store but how are they going to prove you are YOU even when you show up in person?!

Ridiculous customer service. I'm still in shock!

If you've disputed the sales tax on two iPads with your credit card, don't use that credit card again with AT&T. And don't order over the phone anymore. You're done.

Anytime you dispute a charge rather than waiting for the pending charge to fall off your credit card which it will do, you cannot use that method of payment with AT&T again 🤦🏼‍♀️

What's there have been repeated cancellations because they cannot prove your identity, you should not order online or over the phone. Either order in a physical store, or buy your iPad directly from Apple.

I wasn't disputing the sales tax. All I was doing was trying to order one iPad. It was frustrating not being told why the order was canceled and then being told there should be no problem in trying again. I provided every single piece of information requested in order to prove my identity (as if signing in and providing the secondary pass code isn't enough). 

In the end I did order online through the Apple Store. I'll never order a product from AT&T again. Lesson learned.
