Anyone on NEXT with an iPhone 6 getting Insurance?
Since the iPhone comes with a 12 month AppleCare coverage free, trying to decide if I should get Insurance - should I decide to keep the iPhone until I pay it off... I guess if I know for sure I am trading up in 12 months to the new phone, would make no sense in getting coverage. Wondering what other folks are thinking....

Hi @diggator
Just to clarify, iPhone comes with a one year warranty, but it's not the same as Apple Care. Apple Care covers physical and water damage (with a deductible), warranty doesn't. AT&T's insurance covers physical and water damage, as well as lost or stolen devices (with a deductible), so it's a very different coverage.
I have a phone on AT&T Next 12 and I have the insurance, I highly recommend it. With your Next plan, if you want to upgrade in 12 or 18 months, you need to trade in your current device undamaged, so you'll be covered if anything happens. And you won't be in a situation where your phone is damaged or lost but you still have the Next balance to pay off before you can finance another phone.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Dmitriy

For clarification, that's what I did too. I know exactly where my iPhone is at all times, and it's not likely to get lost or stolen. I still had my iPhone 4 (in near perfect condition) up until the day I traded it in to get my iPhone 6, and my iPhone 5 is still in near perfect condition and I still know exactly where it is too.
I'm more likely to drop my phone and break the screen than to lose it/have it stolen. I'm even more likely to get it dunked in water than to lose it. It is a bit of a shame that Apple only allows 2 incidents for the $79 accidental damage but I've never actually had to use them on either my iPhone 4 or 5. I did take advantage of the extra 1 year of base warranty though...

I made the mistake of buying the insurance and when my phone died, instead of something equivalent they tried to stick me with a motorola moto x. When I chatted with the live agent she said it was all due to inventory. I will never buy insurance backed by asurion again.
