If it’s like it’s been in the past, you won’t know for sure when you’re getting you phone from AT&T until you get a tracking number and it shows movement.  Again, in the past, it’s been overnight shipping, so until late Thursday and you get a tracking number, you won’t know whether it will be delivered on Friday.  No one here can tell you for sure whether you’ll get the phone on Friday.  Even calling them won’t help because the information that shows up on their screens is the same thing you see on your order status.

All people can do is be patient.  When AT&T gets the phones, they will ship them out ASAP.  There is no value to them in having a bunch of ordered and paid for iPhones sitting around taking up space in their warehouse.  If you don’t get your phone on launch day, it means that Apple didn’t send them enough of your specific model/capacity/color to fill all of the preorders for a specific day, and you’ll have to wait until Apple sends them more, which is probably happening every day or two.  AT&T literally is at the mercy of Apple providing them with product.

Also, when you ordered, the delivery date was probably listed as “estimated”, or there was some asterisk somewhere in terms and conditions you agreed to that said the delivery date wasn’t guaranteed, so there really is no enforceable “promise” of a specific date.  I’m sure even Apple has an out if an order gets delayed.

Unless your order gets cancelled, you’ll get your phone.  Maybe when you expect, maybe later, but you’ll get it.

Finally, one common complaint when the phones do arrive, is that “so-and-so got their phone, but they ordered after I did”.  First question to ask is whether the other person’s phone was the exact same model/color/capacity as yours.  It’s likely that they got a less popular phone than yours, and your phone sold out of the first shipment faster, so AT&T is waiting on a restock.

I'd take those dates with a grain of salt.

I ordered two iPhones right as ordering went live, and these are my dates below. I believe they will arrive on release day, just like they do every year.

I’m trying to order my new phone and I’m stuck in a loop of this error on both browser and app, multiple devices, multiple browsers. Thoughts? 

When you order the iPhone 12 pro and opt to do a trade in for the trade in promo (it says I could get $350 for my iPhone 7), does it give you an option to put money down to decrease monthly payments? I’ve never ordered a phone online before. In the past, when purchasing in stores, I have been able to do this, but I wasn’t sure if you could online. Or perhaps the promotion requires you to have the full amount paid in installments?  

I asked in store and they said you can’t pay anything off to lower payments other wise you can’t get the promotion offer. 

Thanks! That’s a bummer. That’s what i did when I got my 7. Got like $650 trade and just paid the remainder up front so i wouldn’t have any payments added to the bill. I think that was a store trade in promotion not a carrier one though.  I get why they aren’t doing that, they want you locked in, but it’s a bummer all the same.

Pre ordered the new iPhone it is being shipped when should it be in?

Hi all! I preordered the white 64gb iPhone 12 on Friday at 3:30pm and it told me that the delivery date is on Friday. Crossing my fingers this happens! Also, I have never ordered from ATT before so I’m wondering.. will the phone come unlocked? All I’ll have to do is place my SIM card? Or will it come locked? If so.. is it complicated to get it unlocked? Thanks in advance!

@Danielita28  Phones bought from AT&T are locked.  They usually come with a SIM installed, so all you have to is activate it.  You can request an unlock on line, but there are requirements that must be met.

Some of the important ones are that the phone must be completely paid off, and you have had at least 60 days of active service (if postpaid) or 6 months if prepaid.

If you wanted an unlocked phone, you would have had to specifically buy the unlocked version from Apple.
