Samsung Note5 Recent Update Broke Tethering

Since the most recent update to my Samsung NOTE5  Android Version 7.0, I am getting an error when I try to use my hotspot/tethering. It will not work. Any ideas??

Good afternoon @Starrbrite.

Thank you for joining the Community Forums!  I am sorry about the issues you are having with your hotspot feature.  I certainly want to help you resolve it.

I recommend trying a bit of troubleshooting on your phone.  Please confirm your plan supports hotspot and tethering.  If you try to set up a mobile hotspot with a device on an ineligible plan, you’ll receive a notification to contact us or visit our website.  You can also use our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool to diagnose and fix issues with your service and device.

If these options did not correct your issue, you may have to factory reset you device, to correct the previous software update.  Please back up your device before performing the reset.  . It will permanently erase all personal data, preferences, settings and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device.

If you require assistance; we are here to help.  Please send a private message to @ATTCares, and include your account and contact information, a good contact number, and the best date/time to reach you, including your time zone.

I hope this corrects your hotspot/tethering issue.  I wish you the best and a great day!
