Phoenix 4 phone - not sending or recieving text messages

My text situation has gotten progressively worse.

Often I cannot receive picture messages.

In the past 24-48 hours, texts have been getting stuck in the "sending" stage.   Restarting the machine sometimes helps, but not always.

I have also not received any messages after testing.

Phonecalls work just fine.

Greetings @adrozdowski,

It can be frustrating when you're device isn't able to send or receive text messages like you'd want it to.

  • Is the device an AT&T branded phone or from a third-party?
  • What is the zipcode in which you're experiencing this issue?
  • Have you check to see if the software is up to date?

It's a Phoenix LG 4, branded and purchased at Target for a pre-paid plan.

It is up to date, I've removed and replaced the sim card, called customer service and been referred to tech support with no call back.

I'm in 19148 and have had this phone for years without this issue through much global travel.

SMS and MMS messages are both a mess...unreliable in both sending and receiving.

Thanks for your help to solve this problem of functionality which is a basic feature of the phone.

Hey there @adrozdowski,

Thanks for providing that information and for the quick response!

It does seems to be some disruption with SMS messages in your area. They're currently working on getting this resolved for you.

In the mean time you can try Wi-Fi Calling, it allows you to talk and text while on Wi-Fi.

We hope this information helps!

Hi Jacob,

The issue has been ongoing since 12/9 - please provide more information about what kind of time frame I (and my entire zip code?) can expect toward resolution.

Best,

Anna

@adrozdowski,

The expected planned restoral is set for 12/14/2020, please keep in mind this is an estimated date and not necessarily the date it will be resolved.

We hope this answered your question!

I’m having this problem too and the customer service rep was of no help—despite trying.  What is going on with your service in the Phoenix area??

It took over a week to resolve it, and they couldn't tell me what the problem was.  Some reps said it was my phone, others said it was my plan, others said it was an issue in my location.
