Message unreceived, download now? on LG K10 incoming texts

Getting this on most of my incoming texts, for months. Phone is about four years old. When I click on the little box that says download now?, it will download but have to hit back button to read it. Any help?

Hi @Burg22! Here is how to stop those incoming messages from requesting download once they arrive on your phone.

Clearing your Messaging app cache can go a long way to resolving this trend on your device. After using the app for a while files in the app can become corrupted. Clearing the app cache deletes the data associated with that app, making it behave like a freshly installed one.

  • CLEAR APP CACHE: Swipe down from the Notification bar with two fingers, then select the Settings icon >  General tab > Apps > select the desired app > Storage > Clear cache.

After performing this step with any app, you will have to sign in again, grant necessary permissions, change notification settings, and similar things. Learn more about App Troubleshooting.

Besides clearing the app cache, Android OS (Operating System) uses cache partition for different system operations. You may encounter this trend if the said cache partition becomes corrupt. In this instance, wiping the phone by performing a Factory data reset may resolve your experience.

Before wiping your phone, it is important to perform a Backup & Reset. Here is how to perform a Factory data reset which will revert the device back to factory settings.

It will permanently erase all personal data, preferences, settings and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device, so it is recommended that you save (backup) important data before proceeding.

Give this a try and let us know how this works for you. We don't want you to continue having to download your incoming messages.
