LG V20 H910 how to hide carrier name in notification bar?

Hi

I have recently bought LG v20 H910 unlocked with 64gb internal memory at android 7.0.

I have tried searching for it online but couldn't find any solution about it. My sim carrier name is quite lengthy and it takes almost half of the notification bar in the top left corner. This is quite annoying and disturbing as i am not able to see the complete notification icons showing up plus it is irritating to see the carrier name both on lock screen as well as home screen.

I have tried digging down in the settings to find any option from which this turns off but there is no such thing. I wanted to ask the community as what to do about it? I hope someone has the solution to it.

Regards

Hello and good evening @awaixjvd.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Forums.  Notification bar is valued space, and I know the importance of having it for icons for quick reference.  Currently for majority of devices from mobile phone manufactures, there is no option to change it.  I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Let us know if you have any other questions, or concerns we can address for you.  I wish you the best, and have a great day!

This is why people root their phones. Wish I could get that branding off there. It takes up too much space.

Branding?   It’s showing what carrier your connecting to.  My unlocked non branded phones to also.  It’s a SIM card function.

It is absolutely not sim card function. Notification bar is managed by system, and system is provided by at&t. Slapping one's logo everywhere is annoying and obnoxious. The same lg v35 from cricket displays no carrier line, but v35 from at&t does. That is pretty conclusive proof that such thing is optional, but at&t chose to get some brand placement on our expense

Even a iPhone shows the carrier in the top left.

Depends on the carrier, and depends on the phone.
