"Error code 2" Can't send text messages
Samsung s20 5G. This has been happening for over a month when I try to send messages. I get an "Error code 2" and the messages fail. They might eventually go through, they might not. I'm even on my second device and it's still happening. Did all the resets and reboots. Still happening. A month is too long for this error to persist. Any solutions?

Hi @Dcoll79! Let's address your error code when attempting to send a text message!
Please let us know if Advanced Messaging is turned on, go to Message App > Settings > Advanced Messaging > off. We recommend turning it off since it is known to interfere with regular messaging, then power cycle your device to reset your device. Note that the error code mentioned is a device error, not an AT&T network error.
Also, here is our helpful Troubleshoot And Resolve Tool> Fix An Issue > Connection > Messaging to help fix your message service.
We hope this is helpful! Reach back to us if you have additional questions!

This same thing just started today for me as well. It was only one recipient though it happened on. I went to the above link from AT&T. You have to sign into your AT&T account and go to fix my wireless. I answered a few questions, they ran a service check on my phone, found something and updated it. I restarted my phone and so far so good.
I hope this is help to someone. :)

I'm having the same problem. I'm using Google's messaging app on a Galaxy S10. There is no 'turn off advanced messaging' option.
Tried restarting the phone- SMS works for a bit, then I get the error again.
Quit the app and cleared it's cache. Still getting the error.
Help?

Did anyone ever solve? I've been using Google messages on my Samsung galaxy 21 forever, and suddenly having this issue.

Alas, no. Never figured it out. It magically stopped happening.
Good luck.

This was an issue for me on my moto G7. I figured the phone was crapping out and bought a Samsung A535G. Now it's happening with that phone. If AT&T believes I'm going to stay committed to them for 36 months while I pay down this phone they're nuts not if these issues keep arising I need a solution. When this happens I will note the Internet works fine on the phone I just cannot make a call or send a text until at some point it magically either you have to text or allow me to text again

A few days ago now my Samsung s22 stopped being able to send messages over sms. The same day I was unable to make and receive phone calls. If the call did go through, I could talk for maybe a few seconds before I couldn't be heard on the other line. I also have no data, when I turn wifi off even though it shows the 5G symbol or 4G I am unable to call, text, or use any applications that require a connection. I have tried clearing the cache on apps, restarting the phone, turning on and off airplane mode, and the issue has not resolved itself. Has anybody had a similar experience? What can I do about this?

!!!! Possible solution alert!!!!!
This happened to me for like 7 days straight. Go to your apps and find "carrier service" and Uninstall it!!! I found it in another thread unrelated to at&t and it seemed to work for them and it seems to be working for me. Whatever that app is... get rid of it.
Please thumbs up if this worked for you so other people don't have to go through what I did.
