Cannot software update AT&T Samsung Note 4 to version 6.0.1

I have just purchased service solely to update my two Samsung AT&T phones. I opened the account with a Galaxy S5, after running 6 or 7 software updates, it is now up to date.

I then switched the sim card to the Note 4, I have tried like 15 times and every time is tells me my software is up to date. The device sohws Android version 5.1.1 and security patch received in 2015. The AT&T support shows the latest update being Android 6.0.1, see below.

"Here is the current update: Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

The details

  • Release date: August 28, 2017
  • Android version: 6.0.1
  • Security patch level (SPL): August 1, 2017
  • Baseband version: N910AUCS2EQH1
  • Kernel version: 3.10.40-8932341
  • Build number: MMB29M.N910AUCS2EQH1
  • Build fingerprint: 6.0.1/MMB29M/N910AUCS2EQH1
  • Previous version required: N910AUCS2EQG1
  • File size: 28.3MB"

Additionally every time I call support they tell me I can help you with your Galaxy S5 which shows in the system. I have given the IMEI 5 or 6 times to different agents hoping once the IMEI in the system the AT&T software update database will push the update.

Still no update. Again I have purchased AT&T service for one month solely to update the software. (I am a retired AT&T employee and also now only purchase non AT&T branded smartphones to avoid AT&T software troubles...)

Thank you for any and all assistance.
