Alcatel One Touch Allura (50560) Marshmallow Update

As of right now, this phone is still on Lolipop. When I bought this phone, I was told it would be getting an update to Marshmallow.

Is this update still coming to this phone? If so, when exactly? Since it has been quiet awhile since the Marshmallow was orginally released(and now that Nougat is already out), I feel like I was lied too and that update will not be coming at all.

Does anyone from AT&T have any comments to make about this?

Hey there @DownFall!

We understand that this is a highly anticipated update with a lot of great features. We also understand that the wait has been longer than previous updates. The carriers are working closely with the manufacturer to make sure that the update is rock solid and fully optimized for the specific hardware of your device. We thank you for your patience and are working on a way to make sure this process is a lot smoother and transparent in the future.

As of this moment we do not have a release date for the Marshmallow update for the Alcatel One Touch Allura. We understand that this is a point of much discussion and even some frustration for some of our Community members (especially the ones who want the latest and greatest right away). When the update is ready you will receive a notification on your phone with step-by-step instructions on how to install it.

Again we thank you for your patience and invite you to join our Marshmallow Updates & Discussion thread where you can get ready for the update.

Thank you for being part of the AT&T family!

Hey there @Stephsalinas!

I definitely understand wanting to check on the latest updates for your phone.  All the new features and great security enhancements make them a must for every device. I would be happy to look into the Marshmallow status!

I checked to see if we had any release information for the One Touch Allura, and at this time we are not showing a current date for when it is available.  A really great option for checking on updates is our Device Support page.  After making sure the phone matches yours, please choose Tutorials > System & storage > Software version.

When we get the latest information for software of any device, we make sure the newest details are posted on the support site.  I hope this information helps!

Have a great Monday!

This device should really receive the 6.0 update or 7.0 there is no excuse for never updating a device once it's sold. You have our money yes and you doubtfully care about updating these devices once they leave your hands however this practice is a poor one. The phones we buy last us several years, I used my last one for 6 years before getting this one. I am very happy with this phone but the OS is out dated. My work  requires me to have the latest software soon to take advantage of their latest apps that are required for doing my job. I would hate to get a new phone so soon. I would have not purchased this had I known my company would be pushing for everyone to be on Android 6+ but we don't have crystal balls now do we.

Hey @codemancjackson!

Thank you for joining the Community Forums!  I can definitely understand needing the updates, as I tend to keep my phones for a very long time.

Based on most recent update information for the One Touch Allura, there was a release date of April 26, 2017 for Android 5.1.1.  Hopefully there will not be a long delay before Marshmallow comes to this phone.

We push the updates out as soon as they are ready from the manufacturer.  You can always find the most up-to-date information on the Device Support Page for this phone.

I hope this helps!
