My ATT pre-paid mobile is showing way too much internet usage, I don't use that much

ATT is showing me that i have used 8 GB in less than 12 days. I am new to ATT but I know I have not used it to this extent, whats ATT's deal? I have restricted all my apps not to hook up unless on wifi, and I have never used this much dat, I was averaging 3 GB a month on my previous carrier...Are you guys crooks? I want some answers toot sweet.

Posts like this always make me laugh. Why anyone thinks the network determines when your phone should use data is beyond me. Your phone totally controls when it uses data. It also tracks by app or function what is using the data. You have or should have all the information you need on your phone to determine what is using the data. No one is stealing your data.

Might have been nice to include that little tidbit of information in your first post. No reason to be rude. 600mb vs 8GB, that’s quite discrepancy, I sure can’t explain that. What else are you not disclosing?

We'll be happy to assist you with your data usage @eliniko.

You can check your prepaid data usage with the following steps:

  1. Go to att.com/myprepaid.
  2. Go to Account History.
  3. Choose start and end dates. You can select up to 30 days at a time.
  4. Select a History Type.
  5. Select Submit or Export to PDF.

After that, you can compare that to what your phone says.

For iPhone: go to Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data.

For Android: go to Settings > Connections > Data usage > Mobile data usage

If there's any discrepancy between your phone and your account, please let us know and we'll be happy to investigate further. If it's accurate, you can learn ways to manage your data usage.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions!

Data use is not controlled by at&t.

If you have an android, it measures your use live, by app, and can be reviewed by bill cycle if you set the dates on your phone.

Iphone has to be reset with each new bill cycle.

Open settings, connections, data usage, mobile data usage.  First set your bill cycle dates.  Change dates to match.  As in the photo below, you can select current and previous cycles
