How long can I wait to activate my prepaid sim card?
I purchased a 12 month $300 prepaid plan last week. I received the sim today and ported my number during the buying process.
I'm going for vacation out of the country for a couple of weeks. Att prepaid won't work there so I want to keep using my current carrier until I come back from my vacation.
I still have access to my number with my current carrier. How long can I wait to activate the att prepaid sim card I have where I also brought the $300 prepaid plan along with it and ported my number over?
Can I activate after 40 days? And If I do, will my 12 month plan start officially from that day?

If you do not add funds to pay for your plan and activate service, Service is canceled.
If you had already ported your number to AT&T you would no longer have service with your previous carrier.
If you selected the option to Port your number you could still lose service with your existing carrier or you will lose your ability to Port your number later.
You probably should have waited until you returned from your trip to make the jump to this AT&T $300 plan. It's not going anywhere.
