No, you can’t freeze prepaid. A prepaid account is automatically closed if the account balance is $0 for more than 60 days. The way to keep your number and not pay for a monthly plan you can’t use is to change to a pay per use plan and refill your account sufficiently to keep it open until you return. A $25 refill is good for 90 days. Be aware you will lose any promotional autopay discount if you change plans and/or stop autopay.
