AT&T PREPAID INTERNATIONAL ROAMING NOT WORKING

Yes to all! And after the last support agent, the option of wifi calling has dissappeared and can't even make calls! Network is showing SIM not provisioned.

We want to help you with your experience! First, if you haven't already, make sure to refresh your connection to the network by power cycling your device. You can do this by powering it off for several seconds then power it back on again.

I am in the same boat. I was in France earlier this week and my ATT prepaid sim was showing “no service”. I have an iPhone 13 pro. Chatted with support for an hour, and tried every single instruction they asked me to do. Nothing helped. I’m back in the US, and an official ATT store can’t figure it out. ATT text support earlier today told me again I just need the $35 add-on, which I had when I was in France talking to ATT support. I called 611 just an hour ago, and I was told I need the $65 plan to get international roaming to work. Every interaction with the ATT team was courteous and professional but I didn’t get the help I need, and I’m getting contradicting info. Any recommendation beyond getting a SIM at the destination would be greatly appreciated.

You did need to have an active monthly plan with AT&T prepaid, but you did not need the $65 plan. The $35 roaming add-on works with any of AT&T monthly prepaid plans. 

The 30, 40, 65 or 75 unlimited, as well as the $300 yearly plan.

Yes indeed, plan is active, and the $35 add-on was added on top of that. The international roaming add-on is specific about having the SIM card starting with 8901-410. Mine does not start with that, however I do have one of the newer SIMs as per ATT store associate. I did ask if I can have a SIM starting with that number, and he sounded a bit confused about why would I need that. I’m not sure if that’s related to the issue I’m facing.

That has come up before.  I assume that means the SIM card is HD voice compatible oh, but I can't imagine why and iPhone 13 would not have an HD voice compatible SIM card.  Makes no sense.  And that information is difficult to find.  Since it's critical to function, it should not be.  😨

@Boqueria22 Yeah, drive to Spain. As noted above, Portugal is not a covered country.

(Edited per community guidelines)? I am in the Netherlands and in the same boat. Do they honestly not have a contract with a European provider here?
Compared to Europe, the service provided by ATT is appaling. Of course, getting to speak to a human is near impossible. Very dissapointed in AT&T. And 35$ poorer...

The map I posted clearly shows its not covered = no service.
