I purchased my at&t prepaid axle phone 3 days ago at Walmart. I activated the phone along with $40 refill card. Now when I try to make a call, a recorded message tells me to return to the retailer to complete my activation??? Why??? How can I fix this???

I purchased my at&t prepaid phone at Walmart 3 days ago. I activated the phone along with the $40 refill card. Phone worked at that time. Now 3 days later I get a recorded message to take my phone to the retailer I purchased from as there was a problem with activation. What can I do and why this message???

Walmart probably didn't scan the phone out properly and service is being blocked. Usually AT&T can fix this if you call them, 611. They will want the IMEI from your phone and your receipt or purchase information off your Walmart receipt.
