voice mail never refreshes or up to date
ATT visual voicemail is barely functional. I have to refresh to check messages that appear days later. It should at least auto-refresh every 15 minutes. It's not reliable at all. I would prefer going back to just a voicemail indicator. I literally just got a notice of a voicemail from 12 hours ago.

We understand your frustration with your Visual voicemail never refreshing or updating correctly, fullstrength.
Our first recommendation would be to turn your device off for several seconds, then turn the device back on.
Our second recommendation would be to try and delete the Visual Voicemail app from your device, then reinstall the app back on your phone. You can also go to the settings of the app and perform a Force Close. This is done to decongest the memory and cache for the app itself.
Our third recommendation would be to clear your browser history, cache and cookies. This is done to help your device have a smoother, more stream-lined connection to our network.
Our fourth recommendation would be to use our device support module for some troubleshooting. First, make sure select your current make and device model. Once you have the desired device selected, scroll down to Voicemail and follow the instructions. We also suggest selecting the Troubleshooting tab that you see.
Please let us know if this helps. If not, we can continue offering you further support. Thanks so much for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.

It appears ATT doesn't know that my phone was sold with visual voicemail. Now the system claims it's not capable. What a joke ATT is becoming

Hi fullstrength, we understand how important it is to get your Visual Voicemail to work!
Let’s meet in a Direct Message to check your Visual voicemail provisioning on your account and further troubleshoot. Please check your Direct Message Inbox (it’s the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums) and reply back.
In the meantime, get step-by-step help with your Visual voicemail and learn how to set up Visual Voicemail.

Lastly, let us know the make and model of your device in the DM so we can get started.
We look forward to getting this resolved for you!
