switching from Verizon to AT&T

I'm currently with Verizon. i owe a little over $300 left on my S 21 ultra phone. i wanted to switch services providers because Verizon is lawful. i have a couple questions

1- does at&t pay off whatever i owe to Verizon upon switching to at&t????

2- how much do i have to pay up front for the new S22 ultra phone i want to get at at&t or do they just bill it to my first bill.

3- it will be only one line if i something to at&,t

4- can i always keep my same phone number that i currently have upon switching to at&t??????

1) No, ATT does not pay off your old phone or anything else you might owe to Verizon.

2) You only pay sales tax upfront.

3) Not sure what the question here is.

4) Yes you can keep your number. You will need to port it to ATT.

Unsolicited advice...

Sell the S21 ultra on swappa, pay off Verizon.  Then buy the cheapest functional phone for the trade in deal with at&t.  Any S class phone qualifies.

Hello, @Mandy1939. Thanks for reaching out to us with your questions about switching your service to AT&T. We are elated to hear you are considering joining the AT&T family!

At this time, AT&T does not have a buy out offer. You would need to contact Verizon to see if you can settle the cost owed on the device. Also, there is a likely chance that if the owed amount isn't resolved on the device, the device is locked to Verizon until it is paid off and won't be able to be used.

As far as purchasing a Galaxy S22 Ultra, there is a link on this support page where you can check to see how much your payments would be. You can check this without effecting your credit score!

When it comes to your number, the good news is that you'll usually be able to keep your current phone number. Just let us know at checkout, and we can work with your current wireless carrier to get your number moved.

We hope this information is helpful!! Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
