Smart Limits: Restrictions on data use are not guaranteed to be precise due to technical limitations
Last night I set up Smart Limits on my teenage son's iPhone 5. I saw this statement in the documentation:
"Restrictions on data use are not guaranteed to be precise due to technical limitations"
I called costumer service for clarification on this and was unable to get a answer. The above statement indicates that data use will be restricted/restored at some point "around" the specified time. Could you please clarify the statement? Does this mean that data will be restricted/restored + or - a few minutes of the specified time? If so, how many? 5, 10, 15, etc?
Also, I configured two Time Restrictions for while my son is in school for before lunch and another for after lunch with the intention that he would be able to use data during his lunch. He said that it did not work. The first time restriction ended at 10:30 and the second one started at 11:30:
Why would he not have access to data between 10:30 and 11:30??? Is a restart of the phone required in order for his data to be restored after a Time Restriction has ended???
Regards,
Paul

Hi pjniez,
I think he's not able to use data during lunch because the second time restriction you show above goes from 11:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., from 11:30 at night until 2:00 in the afternoon. If you change the start time on that one to 11:30 a.m. he should be able to use data between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Dan! I can't believe how many different people looked at this and how many times I've looked at this and never noticed the PM instead of AM!
I just fixed it and we'll see if it works.
Thanks again!

Happy to help, Paul!
To be honest, I probably would have missed that, too, but my daughter is just learning to tell time, and thanks to the past week of checking her homework I've gotten in the habit of applying unusual scrutiny to AM and PM.
Hopefully that solves the issue, but please do let us know if you need any further assistance. Thanks for choosing AT&T!
