Setting up voicemail

When I try to set up voicemail, it asks for the voice mailbox number (that doesn’t exist because I have not set it up yet).

Hello, Jwhite3! We want to help you set up your voicemail.


To set up the new voicemail on your mobile device:

  • From your wireless phone, press and hold 1 or the Voicemail key.
  • Select your language preference.
  • Create a 7 to 15-digit password.
  • Select your preferred greeting.
  • Listen to the brief voicemail tutorial

If it is asking for the mailbox number, try resetting the voicemail online by:

  • Go to your myAT&T account overview and open the My wireless section.
  • Scroll to My devices & add-ons and choose the device you want to manage.
  • Select Manage my device.
  • Under Device options & settings, choose Reset voicemail password and follow the prompts.

If you did not set up your voicemail when you got your plan, you will need to call AT&T and have them reset your voicemail.
